While at the Outdoor Education Center at Camp Cullen, fifth-grade students from the Houston Independent School District participate in a three- or four-day program designed to encourage students to apply classroom skills in an outdoor setting, learn new information in a hands-on environment, and learn about students from other schools.
Our mission is that the Outdoor Education Center will facilitate a unique and meaningful residential educational experience for Houston ISD students utilizing our natural settings. Interdisciplinary activities will guide discovery and exploration that stimulate an appreciation and understanding of interdependence: one person to another; one culture to another; people with nature; and things within nature.
